Competition!

Did you know that up to 40% of supermarket’s fruit and veg don’t make it onto to the store’s shelves? Instead they are deemed too wonky, misshapen or deformed and are thrown onto the great compost heap in the sky

We at Urban Veg love our fruit and veg no matter how wonky. So as a run up to the launch event on 28th September we invite you to email your pictures or videos of your oddly shaped produce.  It can be an aubergine in the shape of Elvis or a misshapen marrow.  Why not be creative with the children and make a mini vegetable man out your spare fruit and veg…anything goes. Just don’t forget to give it a name!

The Urban Veg team will pick a winner based on the most unusual or creative entry with a hamper of fresh produce and a family ticket for Winterbourne House and Garden up for grabs. We also hope to present the winner with their prize (and their vegetable friend) at the event on Friday 28th September 2012.

Email your entries to urbanveg@contacts.bham.ac.uk

Good luck!
